Day 1 – Norwegian Tour

Morning

Today we start our tour with 7 Norwegian Pilots who came over to the Alps for mountain flying. We are planning to have a warming up flight at Radsberg (Austria). The previews days were affected by a cold front passing through the Alpes. Yesterday we had intensive showers with lots of cloud cover. These factors together with a North flow expected today will surely govern the flying conditions during our task. We hope that the air is going to dry during the first part of the day allowing us to fly in direction of Villach.

On Radsberg Take off

We are at Radsberg takeoff, setting up the gliders . So far the wind seemed to be launchable, we can see some paragliders trying to get up, struggling in rather weak bubbles, so we are waiting a bit longer for the valley to warm up. Here are our participants:

Before the general NE wind swung through the barrier of thermals on our Radberg plateau we managed to get airborne.

However the conditions in the air weren't strong enough to stay up for a long time. On the other hand short flying day gives us more time to prepare for tomorrow, as we are going to check out the very northern corner of Dolomites, let's see what the weather will prepare for us.
